The Firehouse/Stryper show at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles was Amazing! Totally sold out show! had to be somewhere around 1000 people, total fun!
I Love National support Shows because the club scene here in Chicago, well let's face it, is not really good at supporting Original bands overall, its definitely more of an Entertainment Cover/Tribute band environment. That is fine but it does make your Original Music a tougher sell. National shows however, the people are very open to new Music and my Solo band is very successful in these slots. I sold a lot of Merch and took a lot of Pictures and signed a lot of Autographs! The Fans were just incredible!
Speaking of Merch My kids were there selling the Merch ( I told them to start earning their keep LOL) when they weren't running around downtown St. Charles ( Rocket Fizz is their favorite place) My Daughter Ana is like and old school Carnival Barker!
Another cool thing about National supports is you get to talk to, take pictures with etc groups you listen to whether new or old. I ran into Robert Sweet ( Drummer) for Stryper while getting a drink from the Hospitality room. We chatted and took some pics and it was way cool. I spoke Oz Fox when I was looking for something in the dressing rooms. It was cool. My old Bass Player and good friend Simon Farmery was there as he is in a band with Firehouse Vocalist CJ Snare called Rubicon Cross and it was cool to catch up with him. Backstage to me is always a place to relax and chat with friends. Normally though as its my band I have to do all the running around so there is little downtime.
The boys and I tore it up pretty good after a totally cool introduction by Ron Onesti! It felt good and we cranked through the set with ease. Really Fun times................the best part is after all the years of sacrifice you get to be a part of special times you cannot put a price tag on. The guys and I are very appreciative and hope for even better things down the road.
